Last month, two cohorts completed The AI Strategy Lab For Social Justice Advocates.
Together, we explored a wide range of social justice issues across the AI landscape and grappled with the complexity of living inside systems that force us to choose between our values and our livelihoods.
We supported each other through difficult questions and tradeoffs. We learned practical frameworks for making grounded decisions about AI, practiced critically analyzing dominant AI narratives, and deepened our understanding of the AI supply chain and its social and environmental consequences.
I’m grateful that many participants have already begun applying these tools in their lives, organizations, and communities.
The experience reminded me just how important it is to learn, struggle, and problem-solve in community, especially when doing it alone can seem more convenient and far less vulnerable.
I’ll be facilitating The AI Strategy Lab for one final time this year. The first class begins Aug 6th at 10am PT.
